I’ve been watching Ateneo-La Salle basketball games since I was in grade 6. Back then, my very first time watching, I was a member of the Grade School Blue Babble Band. Since then? I’ve played in 6 of them (5-1 in those games haha) and have watched over 20 more.
And you know what? Beating La Salle, by a single point or 20? It’s the same thing. Because it’s a win for us and loss for them.
I hate it when people go, “Sayang, tambak, sana close game.” It’s kinda annoying. They don’t get it. It’s their problem if they can’t find the beauty in a sound thrashing of our arch-rivals.
A win is a win is a win. All that really matters at the end of the game is that we’ve scored my points than they have. And everytime we do, that’s awesome.
So my fellow Ateneans, next time we beat La Salle and we will beat them next time, by whatever final margin, savor it. Relish it. Love it. Because Ateneo beat La Salle. And that’s all that matters.
